Australia led the way in modernising the way in which wine is made leading to a new style of fruit driven wine. New Zealand, which has a cooler climate, rapidly followed and became world famous for a new style of Sauvignon Blanc.
Australia wines sales in the UK now exceed those of France and New Zealand wines have the highest average bottle price of any wine region.
The wines in this tasting will be from smaller producers and will be selected to show the sort of wines grape varieties and value that are now on offer.
As usual there will be a selection of quality breads and cheeses
